Jeff Lascara is a civil litigator who represents businesses, business owners, construction industry participants, and companies protecting valuable intellectual property rights in complex disputes throughout Virginia. His practice focuses on business litigation, construction litigation, trademark disputes, USPTO proceedings, and IP-related claims where financial pressure, brand value, business relationships, and project momentum are often at stake.
Jeff handles shareholder and member disputes, derivative actions, fraud and conspiracy claims, fiduciary duty issues, and other business torts. He also represents clients in construction disputes involving mechanics’ liens, payment claims, construction contracts, and matters arising under the Virginia Tort Claims Act and related public-project issues.
In the intellectual property space, Jeff assists clients with trademark disputes, brand enforcement issues, opposition and cancellation proceedings before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, and litigation involving trade names, business identity, and competitive misuse of protected marks.
Born and raised in Virginia Beach, Jeff brings strong local knowledge to disputes involving Hampton Roads businesses, construction projects, and growing companies with valuable brands to protect. He understands the practical realities of operating a company in the region, including the legal, regulatory, and commercial pressures that can turn a business issue into litigation.
Jeff is known for approaching disputes with practical judgment and creative litigation strategy. He looks beyond standard playbooks to identify solutions that fit the client, the dispute, and the business objective.
That approach matters in cases where the legal issue is only part of the problem. A shareholder dispute can threaten ownership control. A mechanics’ lien can affect payment leverage. A trademark dispute can put brand value, customer confusion, and market position at risk. Jeff works to understand those business consequences early so the litigation strategy supports the client’s broader goals.
Whether negotiating toward resolution, preparing for court, or positioning a trademark dispute before the USPTO, Jeff focuses on building leverage, narrowing the issues, and pursuing outcomes that protect business value.
Jeff has spent his career serving the business and construction communities he knows well. As a lifelong Hampton Roads resident, he values long-term relationships and understands how local business, construction, and legal communities intersect.
He is actively involved in the local business community and is a member of the Virginia Beach Bar Foundation, the charitable arm of the Virginia Beach Bar Association.
Outside his practice, Jeff is proud to call Virginia Beach home. He is the parent of three children and, together with his partner, is committed to helping make the area not only a strong place to do business, but a strong place to raise a family.
