John Tyler

John is a seasoned business attorney with extensive hands-on experience advising clients in complex regulatory environments in the financial services industry. John has served as General Counsel, Chief Compliance Officer and Corporate Secretary for a SaaS company with multiple holdings, including a nationwide licensed collection and debt purchasing subsidiary. John’s practice includes providing practical and executable advice regarding a myriad of consumer protection laws, such as the FDCPA, FCRA, TCPA and UDAP laws.

John’s experience includes serving as a corporate counsel for a multinational franchise organization where he served as a transactional attorney and as the firm’s legal counsel to the Corporate Information Security and Privacy Committee, lead counsel on the Data Security Crisis Management response team and as counsel to a wholly owned subsidiary offering financial
products throughout the US.

In addition, John regularly advises clients on general corporate governance, contracts and intellectual property licensing. John understands business and how to navigate the increasing complexity of today’s regulatory environment, creating scalable legal and compliance programs while accelerating business growth.

When not in the office, John lives in Chesapeake with his family on a small farm and enjoys being outdoors and competing in triathlons.
