Notice on the Use and Security of Generative Artificial Intelligence Technologies

1. Overview

Davis Law PLC (doing business as Davis, Burch & Abrams (collectively referred to as “we,” “us,” or “our”) may use generative artificial intelligence (“GenAI”) technologies to assist in the delivery of legal services to clients, the review of potential legal services to prospective clients, and the operation of our business.

This Notice describes our approach to the responsible use of GenAI technologies and the safeguards we employ to protect information entrusted to us.

2. How we use GenAI

GenAI technologies are leveraged by our lawyers and staff, not to replace their professional judgment, but rather to assist with certain tasks, including document review, legal research, drafting support, summarizing, data organization, and other administrative or analytical functions.

Any work product prepared with the assistance of GenAI technologies remains subject to appropriate human review and oversight.

3. Safeguards

We recognize that the use of GenAI can present privacy, confidentiality, security, and accuracy risks. Accordingly, before adopting or using GenAI technologies, we take steps to evaluate whether the technology is appropriate for use within our firm.

Our approach includes:

• privileged or otherwise confidential, personal, or other sensitive information may only be used with GenAI technologies that have undergone our review and approval process;
• with respect to the use of GenAI technologies with privileged or otherwise confidential, personal, or other sensitive information, we perform thoughtful and appropriate risk assessments (e.g., relating to privacy, confidentiality, security, and accuracy) on the GenAI prior to use;
• where necessary, we implement additional physical, technical, or organizational safeguards before using a GenAI technology and entrusting it with our confidential, personal, or other sensitive information; and
• we inform and, where appropriate, train our lawyers and staff on their professional obligations, ethics, and confidentiality obligations with respect to the use of privileged or otherwise confidential, personal, or other sensitive information in a GenAI system.

We remain bound by our professional, ethical, confidentiality, and privacy obligations when using GenAI systems.

4. Updates to this Notice

We may update this Notice from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements, or professional obligations. Any changes will be reflected by updating the “Last Revised” date above.
